IVECO HI-WAY v1.0
Award-Winning Cab: The Stralis Hi-Way received the prestigious “International Truck of the Year 2013” award, primarily for its redesigned cabin. The interior was praised for its ergonomics, high-quality, non-reflective materials, and a layout that prioritized driver comfort. It featured a modern, functional dashboard with easy-to-reach controls and was often equipped with a spacious, comfortable sleeper berth.
Aerodynamics: The exterior of the Hi-Way was crafted with a focus on aerodynamics. Its design, including the central grille, side deflectors, and bumper profiles, was optimized to improve airflow, which in turn helped to reduce fuel consumption and cabin noise.
Engine: The truck was powered by the FPT Cursor 13 engine, a 12.9-liter, six-cylinder inline diesel. This engine was known for its high torque at low RPM, which is a significant advantage for heavy-duty applications, especially on inclines. It came in various power outputs, including popular versions with 440 hp, 480 hp, and 560 hp.
Transmission and Braking: The Stralis Hi-Way was commonly equipped with an automated ZF Eurotronic 12-speed or 16-speed transmission, which provided quick and precise gear changes to improve both fuel economy and driver comfort. It also featured an advanced engine brake system known as the IVECO New CEB, which combined the IVECO Turbo Brake with a Variable Geometry Turbocharger (VGT) to deliver powerful and reliable braking, especially on descents.
